Anexinet Uses OpenStack to Solve the $/GB Challenge

For our client in the cloud services provider arena, a leader in cloud solutions and software-based activation serving communication market, Anexinet was tasked with solving their challenge around massively scaling the object-store infrastructure while maintaining an extremely low cost per gigabyte.

Anexinet evaluated various object-store technologies such as Ceph, Scality, Cleversafe, and Inktank for the purpose of building a hybrid storage deployment model with scaling requirements of over 70 Petabytes and inclusive of both onsite and cloud-based platforms. Finally, we designed an OpenStack-based architecture utilizing HP Helion and SL-Series server technologies while achieving a Price-per-GB that was more competitive vs. the largest available public cloud storage options. This new object-store design was in support of a continually-evolving analytics platform based around open source technologies, including the Datastax Cassandra engine.
