Anexinet CEO Named Winner Of Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2005 Award
Philadelphia. PA - June 17, 2005 - Diego Calderin, President and Chief Executive Officer of technology solutions provider Anexinet, was named a winner by Ernst & Young LLP for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2005 Awards in the Greater Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania Region in the "Emerging Business" category. Mr. Calderin was selected from three finalists in the Greater Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania Region by an independent panel of judges comprised of local business, academic and community leaders and recognized at an awards banquet on June 16th at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel.
Cuban born, Mr. Calderin, has methodically risen from modest roots to become a model entrepreneur and community leader. A co-founder of Anexinet in 2000, he became President and COO in 2002, a year when the company's revenues doubled. Since he assumed the roles of President and CEO in 2003, Anexinet has expanded from a Philadelphia area firm with the opening of new offices to serve customers in the greater New York City and Washington DC areas.
Mr. Calderin is an active member of the Society for Information Management (SIM) and currently serves on the SIM Programs Committee. He is also Chairperson of the Integrated Science, Business and Technology (ISBT) Advisory Board at La Salle University, from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science in 1983. He subsequently earned his Master of Engineering degree in Computer Design from Penn State University. Mr. Calderin is married to his wife of 20 years, Linda, has three children and makes his home in West Chester, PA. He is an avid supporter of La Salle University, The Philadelphia Children's Theater, coaches youth basketball, and performs regularly with the West Chester Community Band.
As a regional winner, Mr. Calderin qualifies for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2005 national program. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif. in November 2005.
