Components of a distributed application need to communicate with each other, and Amazon provides several mechanisms to do so. This presentation looks at three of them: Simple Queue Service (SQS), Simple Notification Service (SNS), and Kinesis. It will cover the capabilities and programming model for each, as well as the use cases that indicate using one over another.
Keith Gregory has over 30 years as a software developer, ranging from real-time data acquisition systems to big-data analytics. In the past decade, he has found his work increasingly focused on AWS managed services.
